The BATC Vision

The Bay Area Track Club (BATC) was formed in the Fall of 2009 to support Olympic athletes, develop emerging elites to Olympic hopefuls, and promote running, health, and fitness among local high school and youth groups.

BATC athletes have represented Team USA nineteen times, with three athletes competing at the Olympic Games. It is our goal to see that this group continues its record of success in the coming years. The biggest goal on the horizon is to prepare them to perform their best at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. With the support of the BATC in the form of world-class coaches and great facilities here in the Bay Area, we believe we will set our team up for increased levels of achievement and success.

The BATC promotes running and lifelong fitness to thousands of local residents through events such as instructional clinics, meet appearances, group fun runs, peer mentoring, motivational seminars, and running camps. These programs supplement, educate, and enrich existing    ifitness-based organizations. This will make the BATC an epicenter of healthy living in the Bay Area, providing valuable resources to the spectrum of youth and adults pursuing an active lifestyle.
